In the distance: Kurds protest yesterday, with communists and others, against Erdogan and the AKP, outside the National Gallery. I made my usual comment to a couple of the marchers, that I would have voted for him the first or second time but like Churchill and Moses, after the job is done it's time to go. "Thank you, and goodbye."  I wasn't sure if they were in the mood for a joke but they were. They nodded and laughed. Erdogan changed the game but the change will outlast him.
